On April 25th we will help Avi Kwa Ame National Monument celebrate their anniversary by participating in the Time Travel in Avi Kwa Ame National Monument event. This guided hike will begin at 9:30am at Walking Box Ranch and will cover parts of Avi Kwa Ame as well as the Wee Thump Wilderness. We will be exploring creosote, blackbrush, and Joshua Tree habitats and discussing the native ecology of the area as well as plant adaptations to the Mojave Desert. We will be walking through spiny/thorny plants and over uneven ground. Participants should dress for the heat and provide their own water. The hike will end around 11:30, providing enough time to return to Walking Box Ranch for the afternoon events. More information can be found here:
